Let me introduce the baritone saxophon. That's one of the lower sax. Baritone sax and violoncello (or cello) have the same range. That means, we heard the same note (same frequency).
Quite interesting when we want to play famous Suiten für Violoncello solo with the baritone sax.

There are a lot of adaptations are required to play it :
- the breath (saxophonists need to respire (!) and therefore, are alowed to skip one note sometimes)
- chord : A cellist is able to play more than one note in the same time (as pianist). To imitate that song, saxophonist can play main important notes of the cord very quickly.
- cellists use a bow to slur the notes or they use their fingers to pluck the string pizzicato. The main important thing for the saxophonist is to imitate these songs with the tongue, the breath, the mouth...
